LIFE ON THE ISLAND, HISTORY, EXPLORE THE ISLAND

On a guided tour of Ungdomsøen, you meet a young person who knows Ungdomsøen really well. They will show you Ungdomsøen from their perspective, tell tall tales and facts from Ungdomsøen's past as a military fort and share their own memories and dreams with you. That is why every tour is completely unique, and even if you have been on one tour, you can easily take another next time you visit Ungdomsøen.

Number of people: Minimum 10.

Price per person: DKK 105 for young people / DKK 150 for people over 30.

The tour lasts about 1.5 hours.

DEMOCRACY, TEAMWORK, YOUTH POWER
 

The Democracy Run is a dialogue game that strengthens young people's democratic self-confidence and courage to act. Divided into three groups, you build the foundations for the society you dream of living in. Which values and rights are important to you? How will you make decisions? How do you celebrate when you fail? These are some of the things you will consider together through different exercises that also lead you around Ungdomsøen. When the game is over, your democratic muscles will have been trained in listening, argumentation and healthy dialogue. The Democracy Run is for people aged 14 and over and takes place outdoors.

The Democracy Run was developed together with young people from the Ungdomsøen community.

Number of people: minimum 9 and maximum 30.

Price per person: DKK 125 for young people / DKK 185 for people over 30.

The activity lasts 1.5 to 2 hours.

DEMOCRACY, TEAMWORK, COURAGE TO ACT
 

The Island Council is a team activity that invites you into a shared space for reflection through play, strengthens your negotiation skills and lays the foundation for healthy dialogue. Divided into three groups, you build the society you dream of. You will learn more about which values and rights are important to you as individuals and as a community, how you want to make big decisions and how you celebrate when you fail. When the activity is over, you will have a foundation for a safer workplace that you can choose to build on when you get back to the mainland.

The Island Council was developed together with young people from the Ungdomsøen community.

Number of people: minimum 9 and maximum 30.

Price: DKK 195 per person.

Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours.

COMPETITION, ACTIVE, TEAMWORK
 

Are you ready for battle?! At Ungdomsøen, you can go to war in an old sea fort. In two teams, you compete with laser guns in the fort's underground passages. Find out who has the best aim and which team has the best tactics in a wild game of Capture the Flag. With adrenaline pumping, you explore the best hiding places in the old fort while training team spirit and collaboration. The activity takes place indoors.

Number of people: minimum 10 and maximum 35.

Price per person: DKK 105 for young people / DKK 150 for people over 30.

The activity usually lasts 1 to 1.5 hours.

HISTORY, COMPETITION, PLAY

Dive into the history of Ungdomsøen as a military fort through a battle to conquer the enemy! You are divided into two teams and must use tactics, teamwork and speed to take the enemy's base and capture their flag. The game takes you not only around Ungdomsøen's terrain but also through Ungdomsøen's past as Middelgrundsfort, as you play your way through history with characters from the army, navy and air force. Stratego can be played both indoors and outdoors, but wear practical clothes, as you will be moving around.

Our military history Stratego was developed together with young people from the Ungdomsøen community.

Number of people: minimum 20 and maximum 60.

Price: DKK 150 per person.

Military history Stratego usually lasts 1 to 1.5 hours.

MUSIC, SOUND, IMMERSION

Does your band need a place to record your next project? Do you have a podcast idea that you want to bring to life? Or do you just need a place to immerse yourself in sound? The music studio is open to all young people — completely free of charge.

ACTIVE, THE HARBOUR, NATURE

Experience the Ungdomsøen harbour from the water in one of our kayaks. We have both sea kayaks and sit-on-top kayaks, so there is something for both beginners and experienced kayakers. The kayaks may be used in the Ungdomsøen harbour, at your own risk. You must be over 18 to rent a kayak at Ungdomsøen.

Number: 10 kayaks in various sizes.

Price per person: DKK 125 per kayak for young people / DKK 185 for people over 30. The price covers rental of the kayak for one hour. 
 

Kayaks are rented out in the kiosk.

Remember your swimwear when visiting Ungdomsøen! On the west side of the island, we have our own small, lovely sandy beach. Here you can sunbathe, build sandcastles, race your friends in the water, or dive off our diving platform. This area of the harbor also has the least boat traffic and is therefore safe for swimming. Ungdomsøen does not have lifeguards on duty, but life rings and illuminated rescue paths are placed along the harbor. Swimming in the harbor is at your own risk.

Lydvandringen tager dig med gennem tiden, og undervejs kan du høre om livet på øen, som det var i gamle dage. Ved hvert stop finder du en QR-kode, som du kan scanne med din telefon. Når du gør det, åbnes historien om stedet, og du kan høre den præcis dér, hvor den fandt sted. 

Start i kiosken og få udleveret et kort over lydvandringen.

Det er Lydskolen Æteren, der har udviklet og produceret lydvandringen.

ACTIVE, THE HARBOUR, NATURE

Test your balance and your skills on shaky ground with the Ungdomsøen stand-up paddleboards. They are for both beginners and experienced paddlers, as long as you are not afraid of getting wet. Use of the Ungdomsøen paddleboards is at your own risk and is only allowed in the Ungdomsøen harbour. You must be over 18 to rent the Ungdomsøen paddleboards.

Number: Four paddleboards.

Price per person: DKK 125 per board for young people / DKK 185 for people over 30. The price covers rental of the paddleboard for one hour.

Paddleboards are rented out in the kiosk.

COMMUNITY, NATURE, COMPETITION

Enjoy Ungdomsøen’s green areas with our outdoor garden games. At the kiosk, you’ll find games such as Kubb, giant Jenga, and croquet. These games are perfect for enjoying a sunny day at Ungdomsøen with friends or family.

Garden games can be borrowed for free at the kiosk, where you can also check which games are available.

NATURE, COMMUNITY, PEACE

Feel the presence in the glow of the flames and get to know each other through your best campfire jokes and tall tales. You can light a fire for the cosiness or to cook over. When you have found a special spot for your campfire, you can rent small, mobile fire pits. You can buy firewood in the kiosk, where you can also rent a fire kit with equipment for cooking over a fire.

Renting a mobile fire pit costs DKK 85 for young people / DKK 125 for people over 30, and firewood costs DKK 125 for young people / DKK 185 for people over 30.

EXPLORE THE ISLAND, COMMUNITY, CREATIVITY

Discover Ungdomsøen and find the best selfie spots as our photo hunt guides you to the island’s hidden corners and most beautiful locations. You can use the photo hunt as an alternative self-guided tour or challenge each other in a creative competition. You’ll be given photo tasks both indoors and outdoors, and by the end of the activity, your camera roll will be full of great island memories.

The photo hunt is free, and you facilitate the activity yourself.

Duration: Typically 1 hour

EXPLORE THE ISLAND, DIALOGUE, COMMUNITY

Want to get to know each other a little better? This island tour is perfect for you! This is a dialogue-based walk-and-talk inspired activity suited for all ages. During the tour, you’ll be asked a series of questions designed to reveal new sides of each other. By the end of the tour, you’ll have learned more about one another in a fun and unique way. The island tour takes place outdoors.

The activity was developed by young people from Brandbjerg Højskole and Ungdomsøen’s community.

Do you enjoy sharing your viewpoint in a debate? If so, this island tour is perfect for you and your friends! The tour is a dialogue-based walk-and-talk inspired activity. The tour encourages discussion about how young people can gain more power and democratic influence. You’ll be guided around the island’s terrain and invited to take part in concrete debates. The activity challenges the way you usually discuss topics and lets you experience debating in a new and different way. The tour takes place outdoors.

EXPLORE THE ISLAND, DIALOGUE, COMMUNITY

On this island tour, you’ll get to know each other through a variety of questions. You’ll be guided around Ungdomsøen, and at different stops, you’ll be presented with a new question to discuss. You’ll train your listening skills and be encouraged to debate various topics in fun and creative ways, with a focus on respectful dialogue. The goal isn’t about who is “right,” but that everyone learns something new and gains insights about each other!

Explore the island’s library, curated and filled with literature chosen by young people. The Library is open for everyone to use, and it also works as a great hangout on a rainy day and a cozy space for study groups or board game competitions.
